Shopping Carts - eCommerce: How can I use PayPal services with my new website?
Please follow the steps below to simplify the inclusion of PayPal's shopping solution in your website.


  1. Go to: http://www.paypal.com

  2. Click: "Sign up for your FREE PayPal account"

  3. Complete the PayPal registration form and click "Sign Up"

  4. Once your account has been created go to: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_web-tools

  5. Once there you will enter information about the item(s) you are offering for sale. PayPal requires that you add information on an item by item basis (See step 15). You will also be expected to define what you want to do in terms of sales tax and shipping charges at this time.

  6. PayPal will generate a specific HTML string that is required to make sure your payment is processed correctly. Highlight and copy this HTML code. (You will need a unique string of HTML code for each item you offer for sale.)

  7. Open a 2nd browser window and enter the URL (address) of your SpinSite website.

  8. "Sign in" and select "Edit" mode

  9. Click the "Options" button in the component block that contains the information and or graphic representing the item you have just added to your PayPal portfolio. Choose "Add/Modify Text" and a "Text Editor" window will open.  Click Source.

  10. Paste the HTML code that was generated by PayPal into the Source window.

  11. Click the disc icon to save and return to your web page.

  12. Click on your "Buy" button to verify that you have copied the HTML code correctly. If everything is working correctly you will arrive at a PayPal screen that shows your order and the appropriate charges.

  13. Return to your browser window that provided your original HTML string. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Create Another Button" if you have additional items that you want to sell and have not added to your PayPal portfolio.
